It’s with great honour HRK Medjugorje invites you to the IV international youth handball cup "STANKO SIVRIC" Medjugorje 2009, largest youth handball cup in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Every year in august great number of the handball players are gathering in the town of peace, love and HANDBALL.

Medjugorje is small town with 5 000 residents, but it's one of the largest turist location in the world, visit by more then two milion visitors per year.

This Handball cup was founded in 2006 in memory of late former president HRK Medjugorje Stanko Sivric and with the wish that through the years become one of the best of its kind in the region.

Year after year are increasing number of male handball teams participating in the Cup, and since 2009 the Cup will include women's team.

We must point out that this Handball cup is a opportunity for your families, friends, and other good people to visit
Medugorje under very favorable conditions and verify why it has so far visited more than 30 million tourists worldwide.

At the end we must first thank all the participants so far, invite you all to fill out the application form for Medjugorje 2009, and we will be trying to be a good hosts.

ACCOMODATION AND BOARD:

Teams must pay costs of accomodation and board.
The organiser has provided different categories of accommodation according to team's needs, wishes and possibilities.

Special offer: The accomodation of parents, friends and other escorts for the same price as for players.
Please specify that request in a form to sign.

PRIZES:

The organiser of the Tournament has provided prizes(cups, medals, occasion gift) for the best placed teams, in all categories, also will give award to best individual (best player, goalkeeper and scorer).

IMPORTANT DATES:

Aug 1 – Last date for registration and payment of registration
Aug 19 – Opening ceremony, payment of boarding, group play begins
Aug 20 – Group play.Leaders party
Aug 21 – End of group play, visit and swiming in pools(Circle)
Aug 22 – Finals, disco night
Aug 23 – Arivals

CUP RULES:

Number of games - All participating teams are guaranteed at least 4-5 scheduled games.
Playing time - 2x15 min.
The teams cannot request team time out(the exception are the final matches). No time out at 7 meters throws.
Playing courts:Medjugorje 2009 will be played at several courts in Medjugorje.

All participants must be able to present a photo and age identification upon request.
If a team uses an over-aged player they will be excluded from the tournament.
All teams have to be ready and dressed at the court 15 minutes before the trough-off of the game.
The teams cannot request team time out. No time out at 7 meters throws.
A team that does not show up in time for match without a legitimate reason will lose the game with 10-0.
A team that leaves the playing arena will be disqualified from the tournament.
If two or more teams have the same amount of points, their position will be decided by the following priorities:
1) Result of mutual meeting
2) Goal difference
3) Highest amount of scored goals
Medjugorje 2009 reserves the right to make changes in the schedule regarding groups, start times and playcourts.
Each team leader must make sure that his/her players are totally insured both on and outside the playing field. Meðugorje 2009 has no general insurances that cover accidents, sickness, thefts or damages.

Each club participating in the Tournament "Medjugorje 2009" is due to pay the fee of 80 €.
